I'm an experienced and professional Private Tutor who teaches in the South of England. I have degrees in English Literature and History; I specialise in all the humanities subjects: English Literature, English Language, History, Religious Studies, Politics, and Psychology. I have been running my own private tuition and teaching business for over a decade, and consequently, have helped thousands of students improve their grades and achieve their academic goals.
GCSE and iGCSE examiner for Eduqas/WJEC, OCR, and Cambridge International (CIE) exam boards.
AQA, Edexcel/Pearson, WJEC/Eduqas, OCR, and CIE. Throughout my decade of tutoring, I have taught material from Key Stage 1 all the way up to A Level and Degree material.
Additionally I teach classes for 11+, 13+, and King's Scholarship exams, as well as international students iGCSE and S.A.Ts.
I have taught many students with a variety of educational needs, ranging from dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, ADD, ADHD, slow processing issues to various learning challenges and have found a way to always engage them in the sessions and keep them interested in the subject and help them achieve their goals. I have a passion for teaching; I love interacting with students and seeing them develop their skills, expand their knowledge, and realise their potential. I try to immediately establish a strong rapport with my students, and I aim to ensure that my sessions are very engaging and interactive. Typically, my students improve by at least 3 grades after a year with me, although there have been some higher and more impressive leaps in grades.

Tailored home education that helps children learn in a way that works best for them.
Home education is becoming more popular as many parents feel that private schools are too expensive and state schools are under increasing pressure from growing student numbers. Families are looking for more flexible, personalised learning options for their children.
As a home education coordinator, I create tailored education packages based on each child's needs and interests. This includes sourcing and managing tutors, building timetables, and supporting students who want to take GCSEs as private candidates by selecting exam boards and preparing personalised learning plans.
I personally teach English and Humanities, while my trusted team of tutors delivers lessons in Maths, Sciences, Music, Computing, and Languages. The aim is to provide a holistic, interest-led education while still helping students achieve core GCSE qualifications needed for future college or university pathways.
Matt was an amazing teacher; he taught my son English Language and Literature. My son enjoyed attending every session as Matt can relate to his level of understanding. He was amazing at giving feedback to me at the end of every session.
— LindaHe is a very thorough person, this became apparent to me from our extensive communication prior to the start of any tutoring in order to identify the short term goals and long term objectives. We even had an introductory call before tutoring, an arrangement I never experienced with any Tutorhunt tutors
— NarminaMatt has been tutoring my two sons (Year 8) in English for a few months now. Due to the pandemic this has been online. It has worked really well and they both actively look forward to the lessons even though they are on a Friday evening (which has been really surprising!) Matt is flexible with content for the sessions e.g. if there is homework they need help with. Most importantly though, Matt has taken the time to build a rapport with the boys which has obviously worked, as both were very resistant to the idea initially.
— MandiMatt is a fantastic tutor who has engaged my reluctant and somewhat lazy Year 10 son now for a year. He is able to use his knowledge and enthusiasm to engage his students and produce a happier more confident child, receiving better results at school. Matt is highly recommended, but he is also a decent, caring person who gives plenty of time to discussing his students and finding ways to improve their progress.
— LouiseMatt has been tutoring my 3 children (14,9,7) for the past year. The lessons he delivers are tailor made for their ability and needs and demonstrates a sound understanding of the curriculum that they are following. His professional yet relaxed approach ensures that my children are willing to learn and always know what is expected of them and what steps they need to take next. Matt ensures that feedback is given to me at the end of each session, and he has also provided information to take into school to ensure all education providers are on the same page. Matt`s lessons are always eagerly awaited for and my children view him as a friend as well as a teacher.
